10 CBD Oil Uses From the Inside Out | iCBD blog

Since the 2018 Farm Bill legalized the production of hemp in the U.S., CBD oil has been brought into mainstream use. As it is de-stigmatized, CBD oil uses have expanded, revealing a wide range of benefits for pain and certain disorders. Whether you’re stressed, sore, or sad, here are some of the ways CBD oil can help.

1. Epilepsy

Recent medical studies have confirmed cannabis as a viable treatment for epilepsy. It has been successful in lessening and even preventing seizures. Specific CBD oil products may also reduce seizure attacks in adults and children suffering from other seizure disorders.

2. Muscle Soreness

One of the most widespread CBD oil uses is to relieve muscle soreness. Sometimes, the strain you put on your muscles from a workout or other physical activity leaves you stiff and sore. CBD oil has excellent anti inflammatory properties, which make it great for muscle recovery. Many athletes swear by CBD oil. This also helps with increased flexibility and joint health, meaning you can stay looser for longer.

CBD can also help your muscles recover while you rest. By giving your body a full, deep night of sleep, you allow the natural recovery processes to take over and relieve soreness and pain through the night.

The nice thing about easing muscle pain is that you can do it from inside or out. Take the recommended dose of CBD oil or roll on a convenient topical product right where you need it.

3. Arthritis

The same anti inflammatory properties that help with muscle soreness could also relieve the symptoms of arthritis. While it’s not a proven result, the Arthritis Foundation acknowledges that animal studies could point to benefits for people as well. Some who experience arthritis have reported pain reduction since taking CBD, but the correlation is not yet proven.

That being said, CBD oil is not a viable replacement for other treatments yet, so be sure to contact your doctor before you start.

4. Headaches and Migraines

There is no concrete answer on CBD oil uses for migraines, mostly because there’s not enough scientific research yet. However, Dr. Silberstein, the director of the Headache Center at Jefferson University Hospital says, “If you have a lot of neck pain or soreness, it is perfectly reasonable to use CBD oil. It may even prevent nausea and vomiting.”

5. Symptoms of Autism

In a study on the effects and safety of CBD oil for children with autism, 30% of people reported a significant improvement, and only 8.4% reported no change after six months. The study focused on CBD oil uses for lessening disruptive behaviors and allowing children with autism to gain a greater independence.

After CBD oil was approved to treat epilepsy, it’s logical that the same benefits it has for reducing anxiety, aggression, panic, and potentially self-injurious behavior could also apply to autism.

6. Anxiety

Many of these CBD oil uses relate indirectly to reducing anxiety such as dealing with epilepsy and symptoms of autism. CBD has also been shown to significantly reduce anxiety during things such as public speaking. It can also decrease anxiety and symptoms of anxiety over time with continued use.

The effective dosage varies among age range, gender, and other factors, so it’s helpful to consult a medical professional as you are going through dosage trials. If measuring oil doses stresses you out, don’t worry! Gummies are a great pre-dosed option that also come in a range of delicious flavors.

7. Depression

You may have already guessed it from the aptly named “Don’t Be Sad” product line, but some CBD oil uses may also be connected to relieving effects of depression. The strong anti stress effect of cannabidiol lends itself to reducing depression nicely. It can also positively affect brain and gut serotonin levels which can monitor mood and pain as well.

8. Sleep

Whether you suffer from a sleep disorder or just want a little help calming down at night, CBD anti stress properties can help you relax. CBD reacts with your endocannabinoid system (a.k.a your ECS), which is a primary system responsible for maintaining balance in your body. The ECS reacts to the environment and stimuli to determine which alterations it needs to make to keep everything in check.

One of those balancing acts has to do with sleep. Your body uses a neurotransmitter called adenosine in order to regulate our energy levels. This means when your brain senses it’s nighttime, adenosine is released to tell your body to wind down. If you drink caffeine or have trouble sleeping, it might mean the adenosine receptors aren’t able to interact properly with the environment to help you relax at night. CBD oil can help your body transition into sleep by relaxing the adenosine receptors and allowing them to work properly.

9. Acne

CBD oil is also great for skincare. It has been shown to prevent sebocytes from creating too much sebum. Combined with its anti inflammatory properties, applying CBD oil topically could reduce skin irritations and prevent acne in the future.

10. Nausea and Vomiting

The combination of THC and CBD can reduce nausea and vomiting. If you deal with this as a migraine side effect or otherwise, consider talking to a healthcare professional about trying CBD oil.
