Here's Our Full CBD Oil Benefits List | iCBD

CBD, or Cannabidiol, is a chemical compound that is found in the cannabis sativa plant that has a wide variety of benefits. CBD oil has recently become a popular remedy that assists with a number of people's ailments. Here is our full CBD oil benefits list that you might not have known about.

1. Can help offset anxiety and depression

Arguably one of the most popular benefits of CBD, its ability to calm people down is world renowned. According to a 2017 study by the Brazilian Journal of Psychiatry, a test was conducted on fifty-seven men in a public speaking test. All applicants were given a dose of CBD in the amounts of 0, 150 milligrams, 300 milligrams or 600 milligrams. The applicants who received the 300 milligrams of CBD were recorded as having significantly less anxiety during their speeches.

2. Treat addictions

Opioid addictions have one of the highest addiction rates among narcotics as according to the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Service Administration, in 2019, an estimated 10.1 million people 12 and over misused opioids in some way. Studies have shown that CBD can reduce addicts’ cravings and assist with withdrawals. While there is no true cure for addiction now, CBD has been shown to have a positive impact on people coping with anxiety and depression, which are disorders that increase the risk of abusing drugs or alcohol.

3. Assist with Diabetic complications

An unknown benefit of CBD is its ability to help with diabetic’s bodies regulate insulin-related hormone levels. A small study has shown that CBD can decrease diabetics levels of resistin (a protein that regulates sugar levels and can resist insulin) and assist with increasing their glucose dependent insulinotropic peptide (a hormone that allows the release of insulin after eating). This research is still in its very early trials, but experts are hopeful that while CBD cannot be a direct replacement for insulin, it may assist in lowering the overall risk of getting type two diabetes.

4. Help Treat Acne

Acne is the most common skin condition in the United States that affects up to around 45-50 million Americans per year. Acne comes not just in the form of pimples, but in a variety of forms such as blackheads, whiteheads and even cysts all over people’s bodies from their face down to their back.

Acne is caused by tiny holes in our skin becoming blocked by oil and dead skin cells. This can leave our skin irritated and inflamed which, if left untreated, can cause permanent damage to our skin. According to several studies, CBD has been shown to cause a reduction in pro-inflammatory cytokines which ultimately reduce the inflammation caused by our pores being clogged. This shows that CBD can be a safe and effective treatment for acne.

5. Relieve intense pain

A study conducted by the National Centers for Complementary and Integrative Health (NCCIH), has shown some evidence that CBD can moderate and possibly lower chronic pain in patients. As we mentioned previously, CBD can be used to reduce inflammation in the body which can alleviate pain. According to PubMed Central, more research is needed to determine the best dosage to be used on each patient, but the potential for CBD is very promising.

6. Can help you fall asleep faster and have a better sleep

According to The American Sleep Apnea Association, around 50-70 million Americans suffer from some type of sleep related issue. These issues could range from insomnia, sleep apnea and even narcolepsy. Not getting enough sleep is a major issue as it can affect not only you, but the people around you as well. The recommended amount of a sleep for adults is between seven to nine hours each night, but The Sleep Foundation has found that nearly one-third of Americans are getting less than six hours of sleep each night.

Preliminary research has found that CBD can assist with calming your nervous system, which can help with some sleep disorders such as insomnia. It has also been noted that CBD can helped patients improve their overall sleep and stay asleep longer.

7. Helps people with Epilepsy

Epilepsy is a chronic neurological disorder that causes the body to have recurrent seizures, which are marked by abnormal electrical activity in the brain. According to a study found by Neurology, patients who were treated with pharmaceutical CBD achieved better seizure control than those who were not treated with CBD.

So, in conclusion, the CBD oil benefits list includes a lot of positive effects on issues many people deal with every day such as anxiety, depression, sleep and even acne. With more funding and direct research, CBD potentially has additional benefits that we are not even aware of at this point.
